These two are high school sweethearts who’ve grown up together, and their love has only deepened through the years. Sean planned the sweetest surprise proposal in one of Minneapolis’s most iconic spots—the Stone Arch Bridge. Knowing how much Maya loves dressing up and wandering the city with him (or as he calls it, “bumming around Minneapolis”), he used that to plan the perfect low-key but meaningful moment.

On a surprisingly warm February day, they got dressed up and headed out for what Maya thought was just another fun day exploring downtown. But as they walked across the Stone Arch Bridge, soaking in the skyline and the soft winter sun, Sean paused, dropped to one knee, and asked her to be his forever.

Maya was completely shocked—in the best way. With graduation still a year away, she thought they had more time before an engagement. But the surprise made it all the more special. Of course, she said yes! The joy and love between them were overflowing.

After the big moment, we spent some time capturing their newly-engaged glow in downtown Minneapolis, stopping at some of their favorite spots like St. Anthony Main and the Hewing Hotel. The city held so much of their story, and now it holds this new chapter, too.
